New Mexico Online Casinos

When it comes to the legal and regulated gambling landscape in New Mexico, there is a heavy influence from tribal gaming operations. The state’s tribes and pueblos operate all of the casinos operating in New Mexico.

As well, when the US Supreme Court opened the door to legalized sports betting across the country in the spring of 2018, New Mexico’s tribal gambling facilities were quick to get into the sports betting business.

The New Mexico State Lottery and pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing are other legal gambling options in the state. You can also play daily fantasy sports through all of the popular outlets.

New Mexico’s Best Gambling Sites

Interestingly, the New Mexico state government is still dead set against sports betting. And yet you can wager on sports in the state and it is 100% legal.

Taking advantage of the wording in the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988, some of the state’s tribal gambling outlets are now offering on-site sports betting. According to the act, any or all forms of Class III games, including any sports betting and pari-mutuel wagering, will be permitted.

Six tribal casinos in the state currently offer retail sports betting. Four of these sites are operating their sportsbook in partnership with gambling giant Caesars.

There’s no access to legal and regulated online sports betting anywhere in the state. And since the New Mexico government isn’t displaying any desire to move forward with any form of sports betting, retail or online, this situation is unlikely to be changing anytime soon.

New Mexico Online Casinos

There are currently 23 tribal casinos and five racinos operating in the state of New Mexico. They’ve been in operation since the mid-1990s. All are land-based brick and mortar sites offering all the standard traditional casino games.

Online casino gambling isn’t available from any of these sites, nor is there any other legal and regulated online casino option accessible anywhere in the state. There’s been no indication whatsoever from the New Mexico state government that there’s any appetite at all to legalize online casino gambling.

New Mexico Sweepstakes Casinos

There is one method to partake in a form of online casino gambling if you live in New Mexico. Social casinos, also called sweepstakes casinos, are accessible online. This is possible because they aren’t considered gambling sites and are governed by sweepstakes laws.

Social casinos offer the chance to play casino games for free. But they also don’t provide the opportunity to win anything, at least they don’t in standard play with gold coins. Upgrade to sweeps coins, though, and you are able to exchange your winnings for prizes. These may include merchandise, gift cards and even sums of real money.

In New Mexico, these are some of the prominent social casinos in operation.

Pulz Casino: You can play with gold coins for fun, or sweeps coins to pursue prizes like cash or gift cards, inside the Pulsz Casino. You’ll find more than 700 available games, so there’s always something new to try out. Along with slots, you can also play Texas hold’em poker at the Pulz Casino.

High 5 Casino: There’s more than 1,200 games, featuring both slots and a live dealer studio, offered up by the High 5 Casino. In sweeps play, you can exchange your winnings for cash and other prizes. You’ll get a cache of 250 gold coins and five sweeps coins when you sign up with the High 5 Casino.

WOW Vegas Casino: You can play hundreds of casino games for free inside the WOW Vegas Casino. Use their WOW coins to play for entertainment purposes. Sweeps coins will enable the chance to compete to win prizes. And every week they are adding new games to the mix.

New Mexico Poker and Card Rooms

Online poker is illegal but tribal casinos offer a variety of poker games. Like many states, offshore sportsbooks offer online poker and accept accounts from New Mexico, but it is illegal with players using the sites without any consumer protection.

Sports betting is not legal in the state but you can place sports bets at several of the state’s casinos through a loophole. The legal age for gambling in New Mexico is 18 for the state lottery and 21 for casino games.
