Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed the Lawful Sports Betting Act on December 20, 2019. In-person betting opened in Detroit in March 2020, and online betting followed on January 22, 2021. The rules are simple, but a few catch people out. The Michigan Gaming Control Board licenses and regulates every sportsbook below.
