Mecca is the name most of us picture when someone says bingo night: the club on the high street, the caller, the dabbers. The online site is run by the same company, The Rank Group, and its welcome offer is the only one we know of that gives you something to spend at a real Mecca club as well as online.

You play £5 and choose between a £20 bingo bonus or 50 free spins, and either way you also get a £10 club voucher. Here’s what that’s worth once you factor in the wagering, what the rooms are like, and why the Trustpilot score is so low.

Welcome bonus

The Mecca Bingo welcome bonus, explained simply

Mecca makes you pick one of two welcome offers, and you pick by playing. Make your first deposit of at least £5, then spend £5 in the selected bingo rooms and you’re on the bingo offer. Spend £5 on the selected King Kong Cash slots instead and you’re on the slots offer. It has to be your first deposit, and if you deposit again before qualifying you lose the chance at both.

The bingo route gives you a £20 bingo bonus with 5x wagering. That means £100 of bingo tickets bought with bonus money before any winnings from it can be withdrawn. You’ve got 30 days, which is generous, and the bonus works in most rooms. The exceptions are Best of Odds Bingo, Deal or No Deal 75 and 90, and invite-only rooms. One quirk: Mecca spends your bingo bonus before your cash, so your own deposit stays untouched while you play through it.

The slots route gives you 50 free spins worth 10p each on King Kong Cash Even Bigger Bananas. Winnings go into your cash balance, so there’s no wagering on them. The spins last seven days.

Either way you also get a £10 Mecca club voucher. It arrives by email as a QR code within 72 hours of qualifying. Take it and your membership card to a Mecca club and you can spend it on bingo, slots, food or drink, and it can part-pay for you and a friend. It has no cash value and only works in the clubs.

Why a choice rather than both? Since 19 January 2026, UK operators can’t run offers that make you play more than one product to qualify. Letting you choose bingo or slots is still allowed, which is why so many bingo welcome deals now look like this.

What’s it really worth?

Put in £5, spend it on bingo and you get £20 of bonus tickets. At 5x, that’s £100 of tickets before you can withdraw what the bonus wins. If you mostly play 10p tickets, that’s a lot of games, which is the point. The free spins are simpler: 50 spins at 10p is £5 of play, and whatever lands is cash. The £10 club voucher is only worth having if there’s a Mecca club near you. If there is, it’s arguably the best part of the deal.

Promo Code

Mecca Bingo promo code: do you need one?

No. There’s no Mecca Bingo promo code to enter. Deposit £5, spend £5 in the selected bingo rooms and the £20 bingo bonus and £10 club voucher are yours. Play selected slots instead and you get 50 free spins and the voucher.

About

Who owns Mecca Bingo?

Mecca Bingo belongs to The Rank Group, which bought Mecca Leisure Group in 1990. The online site is licensed by the Gambling Commission under Rank Interactive (Gibraltar) Limited, account 57924. You can look it up on the Commission’s public register.

The brand goes back a long way. When the Betting and Gaming Act 1960 came into force on 1 January 1961, Mecca, led by Eric Morley, brought bingo into 60 of its dancehalls. Morley was nicknamed ‘Mr Bingo’ by the papers. That’s the root of the Mecca clubs still on high streets today, and it’s why the online offer comes with a club voucher.

Mecca’s online bingo runs on Playtech’s bingo software. Playtech has been Mecca’s bingo provider since 2006, and the partnership was renewed in January 2017.

On the regulatory side, the register showed no actions against Rank Interactive (Gibraltar) Limited when we checked in October 2026. In 2021 a separate Rank company, Daub Alderney Ltd (formerly part of Stride Gaming), was fined £5.85m for social responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures. The sites named included Kitty Bingo and Lucky Pants Bingo, not Mecca. It’s still worth knowing, as Rank runs both.

One more change from 2026: Bingo Duty was abolished from 1 April 2026. That mainly matters for the clubs rather than the website, but it’s good news for land-based bingo after years of closures.

Bingo rooms

Mecca Bingo rooms, free bingo and chat

Mecca covers the main ball formats and has a proper community side, which matters more in bingo than any other game. Ticket prices vary from room to room, so check the price in the lobby before you buy.

90, 80, 75 and 50-ball

Classic 90-ball for the full-house crowd, 75 and 80-ball pattern games, and quicker 50-ball rooms when you only have ten minutes.

Free bingo every night

The Penny Lane room runs free bingo from 8pm to 9pm every night, and there’s a ‘Lucky for Some’ free bingo room too. Good for trying the site without spending.

Chat and live rooms

Every room has chat before and during the game, and Dab and Blab Live adds a hosted, streamed feel. The app has chat rooms and live HD streams as well.

Slots

There’s a full slots section, including the King Kong Cash games used for the welcome spins. Remember the UK limit of £5 a spin (£2 if you’re 18 to 24).

Mecca clubs

Unlike most online bingo sites, Mecca has clubs on the high street. Your welcome voucher works there, so an online sign-up can turn into a proper bingo night out.

Player feedback

What do players say about Mecca Bingo?

Not much good, on paper. Mecca Bingo scores 1.4 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 3,329 reviews. That said, the split is unusual: 45% of reviews are five stars and 36% are one star, so people tend to love it or hate it. Trustpilot also notes that Mecca doesn’t publicly reply to negative reviews there. Here’s what keeps coming up in reviews from August to October 2026:

  • Not winning enough. The biggest theme. Players say they rarely win on bingo, slots or Slingo and describe long losing runs. Bingo results come down to how many tickets are in play, so a busy room means longer odds.
  • Crashes and freezes. Reviewers mention games freezing mid-play and balances not updating after a crash.
  • Withdrawals and ID checks. Some describe pending withdrawals and requests for photo ID before payment.
  • Disputed wins. A few say winning claims or tickets weren’t recognised and the dispute went nowhere.
  • The good bits. The positive reviews mention free spins, low or no wagering on some promotions, quick and friendly live chat, the chat rooms and the free bingo.
Pros and cons

Mecca Bingo: the good and the not so good

Pros

  • Low £5 entry. You only need to deposit and spend £5 to get £20 of bingo bonus, where most rivals want £10.
  • A real club voucher. The £10 voucher can be spent on bingo, food or drink at a Mecca club, so a Tuesday night at your local could start with a free round.
  • Free bingo every night. Penny Lane runs free games from 8pm to 9pm, so you can play every evening without staking a penny.

Cons

  • Wagering on the bingo bonus. 5x is lower than many, but it still means £100 of tickets before the £20 bonus turns into anything you can withdraw.
  • Poor Trustpilot score. 1.4 / 5 from more than 3,300 reviews, with complaints about crashes, disputed wins and slow payments.
  • First deposit only, no PayPal. Deposit with PayPal or Paysafe, or top up a second time before qualifying, and you miss the offer completely.

Mecca Bingo vs Wink, Dotty and Heart Bingo

Here’s how Mecca’s welcome offer compares with three other popular UK bingo sites.

Bingo siteWelcome offerYou need toWageringPromo Code
Mecca BingoPlay £5, Get £20 Bingo Bonus + £10 Club Voucher Or + 50 Free Spins + £10 Club VoucherDeposit £5 and spend £5 in selected bingo rooms or slots5x bingo bonus; none on spin winningsNot needed

Heart BingoPlay £10 Get £50 on BingoOpt in, deposit and play £10 in any bingo room within 7 daysNone on free ticket winningsNot needed

Mecca asks for the least money up front and is the only one with a club voucher. Heart gives you the most bingo with no wagering on winnings, as long as you’re happy playing 10p tickets. Dotty’s 3x wagering is the lightest of the deposit bonuses, but you only get two days to clear it. Wink’s £50 needs £500 of tickets at 10x, which is a lot to get through in five days.

Conclusion

Is Mecca Bingo worth joining?

If you like the idea of bingo online and at the club, yes. £5 gets you a £20 bingo bonus with fairly light 5x wagering and 30 days to clear it, plus a £10 voucher for your local Mecca. The free room every night is a nice extra once the bonus has gone.

Go in with your eyes open on the Trustpilot score, though. The complaints about crashes and disputed wins are worth taking seriously, so keep screenshots of any big win. If you’d rather have no wagering at all, Heart Bingo is the one to look at, and our best UK bingo sites page compares the rest.

FAQ

Mecca Bingo FAQs

Is there a Mecca Bingo promo code?
No, you don’t need one. Deposit at least £5 (not PayPal or Paysafe) and spend £5 in the selected bingo rooms within 7 days to get the £20 bingo bonus and £10 club voucher.
Do Mecca Bingo free spins have wagering?
No. If you take the slots route, the 50 free spins are worth 10p each on King Kong Cash Even Bigger Bananas and winnings go straight into your cash balance. Use them within 7 days. The £20 bingo bonus is different: it has 5x wagering.
Does Mecca Bingo have a no deposit bonus?
Not for new players. The welcome offer needs a £5 deposit. The nearest thing to free play is the Penny Lane room, which runs free bingo from 8pm to 9pm every night.
How long do Mecca Bingo withdrawals take?
Mecca doesn’t publish a fixed payout time that we could confirm, and some Trustpilot reviewers mention pending withdrawals and ID requests. Verify your account early and withdraw to the method you deposited with. Bear in mind that withdrawing cash while a bingo bonus is still active means you lose the bonus.
Can I use my Mecca club voucher online?
No. The £10 voucher only works in Mecca clubs. Show the QR code and your membership card and you can spend it on bingo, slots, food or drink. It can’t be swapped for cash and can’t be used with another offer.
